A Day in the Life of a Senior Support Specialist

Nicknamed the “Swiss Army Knife of Practice-Web” by COO Neel Kothari, Geraldine is anything but an average support specialist. “I like to be helpful where it’s needed most,” she says. That means no two days are ever exactly the same for Geraldine and she’s involved in just about everything.

You might interact with Geraldine when you contact Practice-Web support. She takes inbound calls and emails, plus helps with more challenging cases that are escalated from Level 1 support. Outside of this, she records many of our training videos, has been involved in some of our webinars, trains offices on Practice-Web and Smart Tools, and also demos the software for incoming dentists.

Q&A with Geraldine

Q: What’s your favorite quote?

A: “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

The quote is often misattributed to Albert Einstein—the real author is unknown—but I appreciate what it stands for. An individual will work best in an environment that they are suited for. The challenge is to find that niche.

Q: Why do you love helping dentists thrive?

A: Dentistry is a fast-paced, evolving environment and it’s interlocked with technology. Coming from a dental hygiene background and understanding the clinical aspects, along with the knowledge of using the technologies that Practice-Web offers, I feel like I am able to alleviate the everyday stressors by resolving issues quickly and providing solutions to problems that are commonly encountered in clinical dentistry.

Q: What’s one problem dentists are dealing with that you want to solve?

A: Efficient practice flow. There are often time-saving ways to accomplish an end goal, and showing a client how to quickly do something that’s commonly perceived as “difficult” is one of the rewarding perks of working at Practice-Web. I often say that “time = money in Dentistry” or “the-faster-the-better” mindset (both, of which, coupled with a knowledgeable, accommodating, and pleasant demeanor, of course) is key to a practice thriving.

Q: What’s your favorite Practice-Web hidden gem?

A: The planned appointments feature. It’s a great tool to keep track of treatment plans and any notes associated with them on an appointment that is very easy to book and follow up on. (Click here for a quick tutorial on YouTube.)

Q: What do you appreciate most about working at Practice-Web?

A: There is a definite sense of Teamwork and genuine sincerity in helping our clients thrive.

Q: If you could invite anyone to dinner, who would it be and why?

A: Julia Child—she’s a sassy cook. All dinner guests will be entertained and fed well.

Q: What do you do for fun?

A: I’m not a very good cook, but I like cooking. My current culinary obsession is Korean dishes.
