Happy 2015! I hope your practice is ready for the New Year. I love New Years’. It is a chance to recap everything you learned from the year before and apply that knowledge to your future success. Here are a few housekeeping items from Practice-Web to help you start 2015 on the right track 🙂
1. There is a new upgrade for Practice-Web, version 14.2.
This version contains great features to help you operate more efficiently and it includes the CDT 2015 codes which will be required for insurance billing this year. There are 70 code changes. Make sure you upgrade so you don’t have to change the codes yourself.
2. If you have not done so already it is time to update your U.C.R fees.
It’s a fact of business that your business expenses will increase and if you don’t increase your fees to keep up you will slowly dig yourself into the hole of bankruptcy. An easy way to make the increase is by increasing 1-2% per quarter. By slowly increasing your fees, the change is so subtle that your patients won’t notice, but you will also be able to keep up with ever-increasing business expenses. There is a tool in Practice-Web that will allow you to increase your fee schedule with just a couple of mouse clicks to make this process simple.
3. Make sure your hours of operation are set up for 2015.
This is easy to do by going to your setup menu then click on schedules. You can click here to see an online video tutorial. When your hours of operation are set up it makes it easier and more efficient for your staff to schedule recall appointments, a process we will cover in one of our upcoming webinars 😉
4. Make sure all your pay periods are entered for your time cards in 2015.
This is really simple. Go to the setup menu, then click on time cards at the bottom. When you click on the add button it will automatically create your next pay period. Just make sure your paycheck date is accurate. Continue this process until all your pay periods for 2015 have been entered.
