Ninety percent of dentists say they would like to go paperless, only thirty percent actually are. Why is that? It’s a combination of “old school” dentists that are concerned about change and “new school” dentists that are opening their first practice and not sure how to start. Practice-Web version 12 is full of easy-to-use features that can help you achieve a paperless office. Lucky for you, the Practice-Web software can make this transition easy for everyone.
Your first step to going paperless is to get rid of your paper charts. I know, I know those little charts fit so nicely in the crook of your elbow. It’s kind of like holding a teddy bear that you really don’t want to give up. Believe me, if you knew just how much those cuddly charts actually cost you, you would through them out like yesterday’s lunch. Don’t think about getting rid of your paper charts as “just throwing them out” but rather relocating the information. Doesn’t seem so scary now, does it? With the multiple page scanning feature in version 12 this process can be done efficiently and multiple pages can be stored into one easy-to-navigate file in your Practice-Web software.
The second step of achieving a paperless office is using the paperless patient registration features. If you are giving your patients a paper registration form and then scanning in the finished sheet, I have news for you, NOT PAPERLESS! The patient registration process can be so much simpler for everyone, patients and front office staff alike. The patient kiosk in Practice-Web and the WebForms online patient registration allows your patient to do all the “dirty work” for you. The patient fills out their information and with a couple of mouse clicks from your staff, new patient accounts can be created and all of that information they typed in will be imported into their family module. If your office has a signature pad then your patients can sign everything from HIPAA forms to credit card payments. It really is that simple.
There is so much more Practice-Web can do and with our new blog site, we can help you discover these features and achieve a paperless office. Check out our video tutorials on YouTube or call tech support 800-845-9379 for more information.
Until next time 🙂
