Want to earn dental CE credits on your lunch break or after hours from the comfort of your home? We’ve got you covered!
Practice-Web is excited to announce that we recently became PACE-approved providers through the AGD and can now offer dental continuing education courses. If you’ve previously attended a Practice-Web webinar, the format will remain largely the same, though now you’ll be able to earn CE credits while you learn.
What’s PACE?
The American Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Program Approval for Continuing Education (PACE) is the AGD’s way to recognize continuing dental education (CDE) organizations that meet their rigorous qualifications.
In other words, the PACE program vets organizations that want to provide dental continuing education opportunities for dental professionals and ensures that the organizations meet their criteria of excellence.
PACE is similar to the American Dental Association (ADA) Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP) but managed and regulated by the AGD. The AGD created the program to make it easier for AGD Members to earn hours towards their Fellowship (FAGD) and Mastership (MAGD) Awards or their Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition (LLSR). However, most licensing boards accept hours earned from approved providers for re-licensure credit too.
It’s a considerable undertaking to apply and continue to meet the AGD’s criteria on an ongoing basis. We’re incredibly proud of this accomplishment and thrilled to be able to start offering continuing dental education credits to our dentists and their teams.
Who Accepts Practice-Web’s Continuing Education Credits?
Any licensing board or regulating body that accepts continuing education credits from PACE-approved providers should accept credits earned through Practice-Web. Local rules and regulations may change, so please confirm with your state or regulatory body if you have concerns.
How Many Dental CE Credits Can I Earn Through Practice-Web?
Dentists and their teams may earn up to 100% of their non-clinical hours through courses provided by Practice-Web. We provide the opportunity to earn one credit hour per month or 12 per year.
Each state and regulatory body has different requirements. Check with yours to find out how many credits in each area you’re required to earn.
What Kinds of Dental Continuing Education Does Practice-Web Provide?
- Non-Clinical: Because our focus is practice management, most courses fall under the AGD code 550: Practice Management and Human Relations, though we’re open to expanding this in the future.
- Live Lecture: Even though our dental CE courses are taught online in a webinar format, they allow participants to engage via polls and Q&A. This means they’re live lecture courses as opposed to correspondence or distance learning courses per the AGD, though you should check with your regulatory body to confirm their definitions.
Who Can Earn Dental CE Through Practice-Web?
Free dental CE credits are a benefit of paid Practice-Web Support. Only dentists with an active Support agreement and their teams can earn credit. However, all dental professionals are welcome to come to the sessions. You’ll learn new things, but you won’t earn credits unless you’re a client.
Will You Report My CE to Someone?
All qualifying course attendees will receive proof of attendance. Keep it for your records and for submission to your licensing/ regulatory body as needed. We report CDE hours for AGD Members to the AGD.
