Ever wonder who’s on the other end of the line when you pick up the phone and call Practice-Web? If you’re talking to someone who sounds more like a friend than a tech specialist and has a soothing Zen-like voice, it’s probably Kay you’re talking to. In this edition of Meet the Team, you’ll get to know her a bit better and explore some of her favorite tools.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Support Specialist

As a Senior Support Specialist, Kay spends a fair portion of her day on the phone fielding calls directly and helping Level 1 support with their more challenging cases.

She also works on all matters related to e-prescribing. For example, when a larger practice with 21 clinics and multiple DEA numbers recently needed to get set up with eRx, Kay took the helm and got them squared away. She was also largely responsible for helping all our dentists upgrade from an older e-prescribing program to DoseSpot, so they could take advantage of the extra features and more streamlined prescribing process.

Additionally, you might have connected with her through billing concerns. Although the area is usually overseen by Amber, Kay’s MBA makes her a natural for any business-related concerns and she’s always happy to help where she can.

Lately, she’s been involved in pre-launch testing of ThriveCloud too. Given the years she’s spent supporting Practice-Web dentists, she’s been a huge help in making our new cloud-based practice management software release-ready.

Q&A with Kay

Q: What’s your favorite quote?

A: “If you think you can – you can. If you think you can not – you cannot. And either way, you are right.”

Q: Why do you love helping dentists thrive?

A: Coming from a non-technical background, I can understand the challenges associated with adapting to new, ever-growing technology. The feeling of accomplishment comes for me when I am able to help our clients overcome problems in their day-to-day activities.

Q: What’s one problem dentists are dealing with that you want to help solve?

A: Underutilization of software. Practice-Web has a lot of native features that will boost efficiency and production but not everyone knows they’re there or how to use them. I like showing them so they can maximize the benefits of a program they already have!

Q: What’s your favorite Practice-Web hidden gem?

A: My favorite one is the Sheets framework. I have helped many practices start using this feature. It is amazing how you can just have all your forms added into Practice-Web and send them to patients with just a click by email or text. Now, with the mobile forms, this feature is even more beneficial for our practices and their patients. (Click here for a quick tutorial on YouTube.)

Q: What do you appreciate most about working at Practice-Web?

A: As Neel always says: “We are a family here at Practice-Web.” I love my family and it has been a great experience working with everyone.

Q: If you could invite anyone to dinner, who would it be and why?

A: I love experimenting with cooking. So, anyone who is willing to take chances at trying my experiments is welcome!

Q: What do you do for fun?

A: I love nature. On a typical Saturday, you will find me in my backyard gardening and talking to my plants.
