It’s often said that people are acutely aware when things go wrong, but rarely notice when things are going right. It’s a fair assessment and that’s ok. Particularly in industries like dentistry, you have way more important things going on than what’s happening with your software. It’s there in the background helping your office run smoothly and boost production for sure, but it’s probably not something that consciously comes to mind frequently.
Our application manager Nirav is one of the reasons you’re able to “forget” about the working components of your practice management software and focus on patient care and running the office instead. In this edition of “Meet the Team,” you’ll get to know a bit about Nirav, what he does, and what he’s like.

A Day in the Life of an Application Manager
Nirav is actively involved Practice-Web (our flagship on-premise dental software) and ThriveCloud (our cloud-based software releasing in mid-2022) and works across three broad areas: testing, enhancement, and resolution.
Because Practice-Web is constantly evolving to meet the needs of dentists and is always in development, Nirav’s on the back end testing all the new features and enhancements before they’re released in upgrades. His work with ThriveCloud is similar, but because the software hasn’t been released just yet, he’s testing it all—often multiple times—to ensure first adopters thrive right out of the gate. He also manages the testing team to make sure everything is tested thoroughly and in timely manner to keep us on track with scheduled release dates.
In addition to this, Nirav works with the development team to address issues and resolve concerns swiftly to ensure our software works flawlessly for dentists and their teams. He routinely meets with the developers to discuss ways to make the applications better too.
This makes Nirav one of the foremost experts on Practice-Web software, so the Support team tags him in when a client has an unusual or complicated concern to resolve as well.

Q: Why do you love helping dentists thrive?
A: I love solving problems. It is very satisfying to help dentists resolve any issues they might be facing in their daily routine or just to show them how they can do something better to save them time and money.
Q: What’s one problem dentists are dealing with that you want to solve?
A: Many dentists are dealing with costly insurance billing problems. Helping them fix this to save money and improve cash flow is important to me.
Q: What’s your favorite Practice-Web hidden gem?
A: I love that it’s a totally paperless solution. Dentists can do everything from manage charts to billing and patient communication all in one place.
Q: What’s your favorite quote?
A: “Life is too short to learn from your own mistakes.”
Q: If you could invite anyone to dinner, who would it be?
A: Anyone who is willing to discuss their life experiences with me. I love to hear other people’s perspectives on daily life challenges and how they overcame those challenges. It kind of ties in with my favorite quote.
Q: What’s your life like outside of work?
A: I enjoy baking and playing golf with my kids.
Q: What’s a personal goal you’d like to accomplish in the next year?
A: I’m planning to take more vacations and spend more time with family.
